Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre Medical Test is an entrance exam conducted by CSM Medical University, Lucknow on behalf of the Government of Uttar Pradesh for admission in to various bachelor medical and dental courses like MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS in the medical and dental institutes of Uttar Pradesh. A large number of candidates appear for UPCPMT for admission in the best medical and dental institutes.
There are 41 Government/Private institutes in Uttar Pradesh in which admission is through UPCPMT. Of these, 8 institutes offer MBBS, 15 institutes offer BDS and the rest offers BAMS/BHMS/BUMS. The competition to get admission in MBBS and BDS courses is really tough; so, the students have to really work hard. The CSM Medical University takes the exam of Uttar Pradesh Pre Medical Test on behalf of the authorities of Uttar Pradesh.
This test is exclusively conducted for the students of Uttar Pradesh. Eighty percent of the seats are reserved for the students of Uttar Pradesh and twenty percent are reserved for the students of other states. Every year a lot of students sit in the entrance test of Uttar Pradesh Pre Medical to get the admission in the top and reputed institutes. It is held at the various examination centers across the different cities of India. The UP CPMT is conducted every year for admission into Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homeopath and Unani programs.
As this exam is conducted on an all India basis, the competition has increased to a great extent. The students should have deep and conceptual knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Biology to crack this examination. The question which has been asked in this exam is objective type. First paper is of one hour containing hundred questions of Botany and Zoology. In the second hour the paper contains hundred questions related to Physics and Chemistry.
Eligibility criteria:
Candidates should have a domicile of Uttar Pradesh.
A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with atleast 50% aggregate marks(40% for SC/ST) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In addition candidates should have also passed English. Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2011 can also apply.
For BAMS: Madhyamik Examination Passed Students of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi
For BUMS: High School or equivalent Examination Passed with Urdu.
Availability of Application forms for UPCPMT 2011:
The forms for UPCPMT are expected to be available at all head post offices of all the districts in Uttar Pradesh and in Dehradun and Nainital and also at selected General Post Offices across Uttar Pradesh.

Examination Pattern:
There will be 2 papers of 2 hours each. The first paper will contain questions from Zoology and Botany. The second paper will have questions from Chemistry and Physics. Only objective questions will be asked.
