This book covers every topic in biology that is asked in various PMTs. It serves as a manual for medical entrance examinations giving you an overview of the complete biology syllabus.
This book is based on my notes which I had prepared myself while preparing for PMTs. You need not study from any other material of any coaching institute to supplement this book. I expect atleast 90-95% questions in biology in the PMTs from this book.
I have written this book with a view to prevent students from being misguided by surplus, irrelevant information provided by books currently available in the market or by various PMT coaching institutions.

Salient Features :
1. This book contains all very important and frequently asked questions from biology in factual form derived from the previous years’ question papers of all medical entrance
examinations.
2. A collection of 100+ mnemonics; some of which have been collected from the study materials
of various PMT coaching centres and the internet while the majority of them have been prepared by author himself. Such a collection is not to be found elsewhere.
3. It also contains tips for solving questions, FAQs regarding preparation methods, study techniques, suggestions and advice regarding the entire preparation as well as last minute
revision.
4. Flow charts, tables, cycles have been incorporated in a notes wise format for better comprehension and easy learning.
5. Well labelled diagrams (NCERT based) for AIIMS, CBSE-Mains, Karnataka CET, and Manipal etc. have been included.
6. All the important terms and facts have been highlighted by using italics or bold fonts and the lesser important ones have been written in smaller fonts while the necessary superfluous
information has been omitted.
7. Also covers additional topics asked in different state-level examinations.
8. At least 90-95% questions in biology in PMTs are expected from this book.
9. Even a below average student can crack the exam after reading this book.

Questions from the current editions of NCERT biology are asked in various exams including AIIMS, AIPMT, DPMT; while AMU and DPMT draw questions even from very old editions of NCERT biology; keeping this in mind, I have compiled chapter-wise points from three editions of NCERT biology (1999, 2006, 2008).
12. Atleast 90-95% questions in biology in the PMTs are expected to come from this book.

i ordered biology @ ur fingertips at dialabook.com. when i called them, they said that it is in stock and told me to pay money. next day i deposited the money as told by them. i informed them that i have paid nd later i received mail that the book has dispatched nd will reach in 2-3 days but 5 days past nd no book came so i called them again today nd they said the book is out of stock and they dont know when new stock will come. are they doing some kind of fraud as earlier they said the book has dispatched nd now they say that it is out of stock? please help!

It’s MRP is 400 and publishers sell it to all big distributors including flipkart @ 50% discount and so the bookstores and flipkart should give 10-20% discount. Flipkart was earlier giving 5% discount but I don’t know y they increased the price.

Don’t practice hi-fi questions or unsolved problems. after solving the problem your self always look for its correct solution.Make sure that u practice questions from every topic and question of every type. By doing so, u will remember correct way of solving every question and u won’t come across any problem in ur exam which you had not seen before.

Just start studying. Be ready for the 200% devotion.there is no alternative to hardwork and if u are dreaming big, then u have study hard..and keep in mind..DREAM BIG, but DON’T DAY DREAM!

I am finding meyself uncomfortable in this field i am not able to make my end go against my concepts i mean to say that suggest me a book that clears my concepts i.e a book that clears concept with interest
secondly biology is a vast subject teachers at aakash go to a very deeper extent as u say that prefer ncert but if aakash is a river then ncert is swimming pool
suggest me the ways in which i can make my studies interesting and not take it as burden
I know these questions would sound akward but for me they are not

Which Books to refer?
There are many books available in the market but none of them tell you exactly what to study and what to not. None of them tells you which topic is important but in my both books handbook of biology and biology @ your fingertips, I have included only the relevant and important and frequently asked points with an assurance of over 80 – 90% questions in biology from the same book.

there is no such info on the pattern of NEET. and apart from HOB, NCERTs, Biology @ your fingertips ( to be released in January) and past papers are very essential.

hello i am preparing fr my entrances as well as cbse boards. the major problem i m facing is balancing b/w entrance and boards. some topics which are neccessary fr entrance are not required fr cbse. so my question is that are the questions asked in the entrance closely related to the ncert level ( especially fr phy and chem )??..if not which other book shud be referred and wat strategy do u suggest to balance b/w boards and entrance and also crack both??

for both boards and NEET, NCERT is very necessary but along with it you need to read reference textbooks like Pradeep coz in NCERTs many topics are mission or under-covered. If you write something extra in boards, not given in NCERTs, you would get extra marks. Secondly,Unlike Biology NCERT, NCERT for physics and chem are not good..so u will have to refer to other books. If you don’t have much time then no need to read any extra book for competitive exam.
for physics and chemistry, just read Pradeep/comprehensive and solve its solved examples… no need of objective book. in Biology, refer NCERT + Biology @ your fingertips..and if you get time, see past papers of boards and AIPMT. and there are very few topics which are asked additionally in PMTs,most of the syllabus is the same as that of school exams..and you can cover it after the boards, u’ll get a month’s time for it. so even if you study that much perfectly, you can clear the exam. It’s a fact that most of the people read everything possible but are not able to recall anything at the time of examination. so, it is better to read selectively but make sure that you understand and retain whatever you are reading.

Sir, I am gonna appear for NEET 2013.. And I have started referring Pradeep textbook for all subjects i.e PCB.. and being a maharastra board student I am Finding it difficult to manage with college studies and NEET… What should be my first priority? And how can I manage both of them? And also will Pradeep book be sufficient?

actually now I am thinking of writing a formula book for physics and chemistry coz no such formula book right now is available in the markets. But it would take time. I will start working as soon as my exam are over. but still it would not be able to come in the market before March. right now you can study physical from Pradeep..it’s very boring kind of book but is the best as far as I know. I had studied RC Mukharjee in physical chem but it was a time waste..such questions come only in IITs . It’s note made for PMT.and Pradeep is a complete book..just read its theory and practice solved examples only..it’s sufficient. You don’t really need to go for an objective book separately. and also Read NCERT in chemistry. and solve Past papers of all exams.

IPU CET has nothing specific pattern..they keep changing the trends everytime..like in BHU we have to lay more emphasis on botany or in AIIMS, on NCERT; there is nothing such for IPU CET coz early they used to ask botany in detail, then once, they laid more emphasis on human physiology; so, no need to worry and there is nothing special to be studied… prepare acc. to aipmt for this exam.

Dear Sir ,
I am communicating with you for the second time on this website . I want to know what book will be enough for studying Organic Chemistry for PMTs . As it is , Aakash Coaching teachers have said that their notes will be enough and we don’t need to study the Organic Chemistry books given by Aakash Institute . This means , right now , I am following solely the notes given by the teachers of Aakash . Will that be enough , or is there a better supplement for this subject ? Physical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry – I am doing these from Dinesh books . But , since I am not particularly comfortable with the Organic Chemistry book supplied by Dinesh Publications , I am trying it out from the Aakash notes .
Also , will there be an IPUCET and VMMC entrance in 2012 or admissions to these colleges will take place solely through the NEET 2012 .
One more thing , I had to clarify was that we all know that AIPMT exam is in a league of its own . This exam is way more tougher and different from the State PMTs or even the AFMC , AIIMS , BHU exams . So , since CBSE has taken responsibility for NEET , will NEET 2012 pose the same type of toughness as the AIPMT exam . I know this is quite an unusual question but would be glad to have an answer . Also , if this happens , give me some points as to how I can crack the NEET 2012 . My study combinations are solely from Dinesh Ojective books except for Organic Chemistry . I am appearing for the PMTs for the third time now . One more thing , I have bought your HOB book and am waiting for the next one to come out in the market . Doing a fabulous job . Keep it up .
PS . Give me some suggestions as to the importance of chapters in Inorganic Chemistry . I am really trying for the IPUCET . Wish me luck .

for organic NCERT + Pradeep Chemistry Textbook / notes of Akash whichever you find good. and there is no confirmation regarding NEET.So, no need to worry right now, just concentrate on your studies. Read NCERTs especially in Biology.also do solved numericals from NCERT Physics. So, Just concentrate on NCERT and read my book. Biology @ Your fingertips would be launched in October end.
