Each year 77 (seventy seven) seats are available for admission to the graduate medical course, leading to the award of the degree of M.B.B.S. by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Out of these, 11 (eleven) seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes, 5 (five) seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes, 19 (nineteen) seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes and 5 (five) seats are reserved for the Foreign Nationals nominated by the Government of India and 37 (thirty seven) seats for General Category. Student life and academics

MBBS life in AIIMS has a distinctive laid-back character. Attendance was not made compulsory until a few years ago, with students being given full liberty to organize their own study patterns. The limitation of class size to just 50 per year ensures a close-knit student community of just over 250 people. The student body is predominantly male, with men forming approximately 80% of every batch. This is in contrast to the situation with most other medical colleges, where women are represented in larger numbers. Hostel life centers around the Quadrangle in the Gents’ hostel, where most students can be seen lounging or studying.

AIIMS has a cosmopolitan student body, owing to its location in the national capital, as well as its countrywide reputation. Students from Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Mauritius and other nations add some of their own flavour. Exchange students from several Indian and international medical schools also mix with the existing crowd. The students are represented by the AIIMS Students’ Union, headed by an executive committee that is elected every year from students of 4th year.

Students of AIIMS involve themselves in extra-academic movements, including Pulse, the annual, inter-college festival hosted by AIIMS. Pulse is easily India’s largest medical fest, with daily attendance ranging from 5000 to 15000. A large, well-equipped students’ gym, swimming pool and courts for tennis, basketball, volleyball, squash and soccer provide ample recreational opportunities. Prayatna is a student organization that arranges blood donation camps for the fulfilment of perpetual shortage of blood at the AIIMS blood bank.

for physics, learn all the formulas and practice solved examples given in any reference book. Don’t practice hi-fi questions or unsolved problems. after solving the problem your self always look for its correct solution.Make sure that u practice questions from every topic and question of every type. By doing so, u will remember correct way of solving every question and u won’t come across any problem in ur exam which you had not seen before.
important topics – Modern physics and thermo in physics, all formulae in Physics and Physical chemistry, compounds name and periodic table trends in inorganic and important name reactions in organic.
for bio, handbook + fingertips + ncert
solve past papers of bhu, aipmt abd your state pmt.
My upcoming books for physics n chemistry would be released in a few months.

Right now just tell him to lay stress on basics. NCERTs and school notes are sufficient. He can also get my books because they have lot of mnemonics and simple learning methods. though many things would be out of syllabus, so there is no need to read everything from them.

My books for Physics and Chemistry would be released after a few months so you can refer to them also.

Also ask him to tell his seniors preparing for medical entrances about my book.

HANDBOOK OF BIOLOGY BY RAHUL CHAWLA
This book can be considered as a last ditch stand for all the students preparing for PMTs, who cannot afford to give themselves a second chance and another year of tiring studies. This 128 page-hand cum pocket book gives you an overview of the complete biology syllabus so it is easier for the students to revise at the last moment. The book would be extremely helpful in last minute revision.

you will have to study > 8 hours/day. atleast…and you haven’t mention whether you are in school or a dropper..if in school then don’t waste time in school and pay attention to medical entrance preparation than on school exams and school activities which are very distracting and cant go hand in hand with entrance prep. You should try to get the maximum output from your input. Don’t day dream; focus your senses on what you are studying. do read NCERTs, solve papers and follow my books in biology.

Till now I have written just two books and I am also working on the text book and an objective book for biology. But this would take time. So, you should buy above books. I also referred to the same books.

Note : this is the ideal combination, which I have prescribed, so if at any stage you are running out of time, you can only rely on my books along with NCERT
Physics – comprehensive / teacher’s notes + A.K Aggarwal objective book or any other book which your teacher has specified.

        2. Start studying your 11th syllabus and finish it in 4-5 months. you will have to study at least 8 hours / day.

        3. Start 12th syllabus in June and finish it by October..in November revise your 11th syllabus again. it would take a month at least. From December next year, start 12th.

        4. Keep solving past papers in the mean time..

        5. Read NCERTs and my books in Biology.

        6. Read my article https://pmtgurumantra.wordpress.com/2011/07/18/aipmt2012strategy/

        7. Opt for CBSE board in 12th class and choose that school where attendance is not a compulsion. It would save time which gets wasted in school activities.

tell all your friends regarding my book and do buy it.
